Destination Achieved

The 22nd of April

Dear Journal:

WE’VE FINALLY ARRIVED! For the time being, I’m forcing myself to forget why it is we’ve come here and I am instead grateful to finally be off of that boat. For quite some time I am sure I will be telling Rip I want nothing to do with the factory in Iron Bay. Once we get back to Babbage, I do not want to be on the water again until at least next year! Oh, and before I forget the name again, we are now in Ravila. I only had to ask Rip three more times this morning.

Oh! The strangest thing happened when we docked. Far too often when I go somewhere unfamiliar I always think I see a familiar face and am quite mistaken, but that was not the case today. There on the dock appearing a bit disheveled and sans two limbs was none other than a Babbage resident, Kaylee Frye. It seems she had quite the accident out on the sea, so we’ve offered to let her stay with us while we are here and then we will take her back to Babbage later on.

Gratefully on dry land,

Motion Sickness

The 20th of April

Dear Journal:

As I had said in my previous entry, the sunshine and sea breeze were wonderful for a short while, but they’re already beginning to wear on my senses. The rocking of the boat at first was quite calming and relaxing, I imagine perhaps like an infant rocked in the arms of his mother. Now though, I am sure once I step foot on land I will continue to feel as though I am moving for days; that is a sensation I am not looking forward to. I only hope that we will arrive in Ravioli ...where we're going soon.

I believe it will not be much longer before we do dock. I am, of course, looking forward to getting off of this wretched boat, but at the same time I worry for what we may find there. Though, with the time passed since our departure, the vampire we have heard of could have been long gone by now, but I know that will not stop the rage within Rip. He yearns more than anything to bring justice, and, worst of all, get revenge.

Set Sail

The 13th of April

Dear Journal:

Yesterday Rip and I set out from Port Babbage. We’re on the hunt, I suppose you could say, for who else but the one and only Nareth. Perhaps a half a fortnight ago a ship stopped in Iron Bay for a quick repair and regaled a tale of a vampire recently seen across the sea. We, of course, pressed the gentleman for more information but he had no more than rumors passed so far we were not sure what to trust. Regardless, we could not pass up the chance at finding Nareth yet again so we could be certain and stop her reign of madness for good. So, on this tiny bit of information, we're heading on our way to Ravio Raliva Rao Oh, I can't remember the exact name, but I suppose it does not matter.

I’m relaxing on the upper deck as I write, enjoying the sunshine and sea breeze. I am sure the novelty will wear off soon and I will be on my knees praying for dry land, but for the moment I hope to stay in this calm. It has been quite some time since we’ve had a peaceful moment such as this, even as we sail towards a possible battle. All at the same time I regret, and am glad I do not have journals from the past. There has been so much pain, shame, violence, and yet there have been bright moments of happiness that I do not wish to forget.
